Test case structure
The test case structure for manual will be in EXCEL SHEET. The basic contents of the test case sheet are as follows and by taking example.
Example: Log in Window for Browser
- Test Case ID ( ID Number :TC001)
- Test Case Name (Log in Window)
- Test Step (Step 1)
- Description (Log in window contains User ID & Password)
- Expected Results (Moves to inbox of the particular User if User ID and Password is Correct)
- Actual Results (Test Case failed due to incorrect User ID/Password)
- Status (Whether the test case is failed or passed at run time)
- Run Status (Results Displayed at Run Time)
- Attachment Columns (Any Attachments want to upload we can attach)
- Module Name (Log in Window)
- Requirement ID (APP001)
- Type of Test Case (Validation)
- Complexity (High, Medium or Low)
- Designer Name ( Rama )
- Creation Date (01/01/10)
- Comments (Related Comments)
The compulsory columns for a test case given below
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, &16. These columns are very important for a test case. The remaining are optional.
